ORBIS SHIPPING Joins the Global Logistics Alliance (GLA)

When a shipment leaves a Vietnamese port, the hardest part of the job is usually not the ocean leg. It is the far end: who receives the cargo, who handles import clearance, who calls the carrier when a container is held, and who answers for it if the box sits at the terminal accruing demurrage.

That is why an agent network determines a forwarder's service quality more than almost anything else — and it is also the thing customers rarely ask about when comparing quotes.

What happens without an established agent

A forwarder without a network has to source an agent for each lane and each shipment. It works, but it carries three very real risks:

• Nobody vouches for them. An agent found online is backed by nothing but their own website.
• No leverage when things go wrong. Cargo stuck at destination accrues storage daily — without a standing relationship, nobody is in a hurry to fix it for you.
• Payment exposure. Freight advanced at the far end that the partner never remits becomes a cross-border dispute, which in practice means it is gone.

ORBIS SHIPPING joins the Global Logistics Alliance

In July 2026, ORBIS SHIPPING CO., LTD became a member of the Global Logistics Alliance (GLA), a worldwide network of freight forwarding and supply chain companies. By GLA's own account, the network currently spans over 7,000 member companies in more than 170 countries.

ORBIS's membership ID is 1081053, publicly verifiable in the GLA member directory.

What this changes for customers

• A fellow network partner at the far end. Delivery, clearance and problem-solving at the destination port are handled by a GLA member, not by an unknown company sourced shipment by shipment.
• Faster to open new lanes. When a customer needs a market ORBIS has not served before, the search for an agent starts from the network's own directory rather than from zero.
• Verifiable. You do not have to take our word for it — the membership ID can be looked up on GLA's own site.

Being precise about what membership means

One point we would rather state plainly than leave vague: GLA is an agent network, not a quality certification body. Membership does not mean our service has been audited and scored by some authority. What it provides is a binding partnership within a shared network — and for international cargo, that is worth more in practice than a certificate on the wall.
